De Waterkant used to be a Cape Malay neighbourhood, until the apartheid government forcibly removed its inhabitants in the 1960s. Today, the area is Cape Town’s gay center and this popular gay-friendly eating and drinking place offers various tasty dishes and a wide array of drinks.
