The center of selling in Costa Rica's crafts center, this is the place most tourists head straight towards when they come to Sarchí to shop for crafts. The center houses more than 35 souvenir stores, as well as a number of cheap diners and snack shops. The most popular items on sale here are the handpained wooden oxcarts, which come in various sizes, but there are also other goods from all around the country. A number of tour agencies based in San Jose organize day trips to Sarchí.
