This marathon held each year on December 31st, is a competition to end the year in style. The São Silvestre meeting is an important event in the international athletics calendar with 12,000 athletes from numerous countries facing a 15-kilometer race along the streets of São Paulo. In addition to the professional athletes, there are thousands of amateurs and recreational runners who make the whole event a real party as well as a place to show their personal style and good sense of humor.
