Turning the stereotype of the redneck cowboy completely on its ear, this "Gay Rodeo" is one of the wildest and most colourful fringe events associated with the Calgary Stampede. The rodeo, held at Symon's Valley Ranch, features the full range of traditional rodeo events such as steer wrestling, bull riding and calf roping. All events are open to both men and women. What makes this rodeo unique and fun, however, are the campy events that include goat dressing and a wild drag race. The event also includes a daily pancake breakfast, a dinner and a dance.
