Constructed in 1908, the dam and reservoir offer a privileged location for the practice of water sports such as windsurfing, waterskiing and sailing. With three small islands as well as the larger Ilha dos Eucaliptos there are many different activities to choose and places to visit. Although this is a popular destination, you should be aware that it suffers from over development and urbanization. Your beach experience may be marred by pollution and frequent low water levels, not the kind of thing you would expect after travelling thousands of miles.
