Founded in 1979 by Mario Ernesto Sanchez, who is still the owner, this theater centers its identity in live Spanish-language comedies and dramas. The International Festival of Hispanic Theatre, held here from May to June, showcases companies from Spain and Latin America. Although the usually high-quality productions target Latino communities, they also appeal to general audiences. Watching a show here is also an entertaining and innovative way to improve Spanish-language skills.
